Meet Yoga with Saria

Namaste

My name is Arisa Nishida

I am certified Jivamukti Yoga, Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga teacher.

I also finished 300 hour Foundations of Yoga Therapy course with Chelsea Lee at Vancouver School of Healing Arts in January 2018.

My goal for Yoga Therapy and teaching yoga is to empower the clients/students to explore their inner ability to reach their optimal state of well being.

I strongly believe we have own resources to heal ourselves. Sometimes when we are in a state of imbalance either physical or/and emotional, we can use some support to remind ourselves.

My focus in the session is to facilitate the safe space for the client to connect with own mind and body.

In the asana offering, we use yoga postures to get into our body rather than using our body to get into the shape of yoga poses. Through healing touch of hands on assist, we work together to cultivate and deepen our awareness and mindfulness.

My holistic approach to yoga therapy and yoga teaching, I offer yoga techniques as effective tools and integrate elements of yin, yang, restore to tailor unique menu for the client's need.

I offer group classes and private sessions, as well as therapeutic yoga sessions for individuals to empower clients and students to achieve their optimal well-being.

Who I Am

My name is Arisa, from Yokohama Japan.

I live in beautiful city, Vancouver B.C..

I came to Canada in 2009 to ski on the big mountains in Whistler. I started practicing yoga in 2010. Right from the beginning, I fell in love with this ancient practice. I loved all styles of yoga. Especially Jivamukti Yoga.

I was always wondering what made my teachers so special and skillful to guide students. Out of curiosity I participated 300 hour Jivamukti Yoga Teacher TT in Costa Rica in 2012.

Since then I had trainings of Yin Yoga TT with Bernie Clark, Restorative Yoga TT with Tianne Allan, Pain Care Yoga TT with Neil and Tianne, Restorative Yoga TT with Swan and Nevah. My approach to yoga and yoga teaching changed over time for more holistic way and 2018 January I finished 300 hour Foundation of Yoga Therapy Program at Vancouver School of Yoga.

Sports and nature was very important element of my life. Support people through therapeutic yoga to overcome the injuries and go back to what they love is my great passion.

And also I believe yoga's potential to regulate nerve system. Improving the quality of life for clients who have autonomic nerve system imbalance, autoimmune disorder, chronic disease, depression and anxiety will be my life long mission as well.
